Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Net Gain Realty LLC(“DayOne,” “we”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the DayOne service. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We collect three categories of information:

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name and email through our authentication provider, Clerk.

Billing information. If you subscribe, Stripe collects payment details directly. We never see or store full card numbers. We receive a Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

Content you submit. Files you upload (including MLS data exports), property details you enter, and reports we generate from them.

Engagement data. When a viewer opens a report you publish at a public /r/[slug] link, we record view events, section interactions, return visits, and approximate visitor identifiers (e.g., hashed device/browser fingerprints) so you can see how engaged the viewer is.

Marketing attribution. If you arrived from an ad or marketing link, we may store UTM parameters, Facebook click identifiers, and similar tags so we can measure marketing performance.

2. How we use information

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Generate, host, and display the reports you create
  • Send transactional emails (account, billing, engagement notifications)
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Measure marketing performance and improve our advertising
  • Conduct market research and produce de-identified, aggregated analytics across our user base — for example, comp accuracy, neighborhood market velocity, and pricing trends — to improve the Service for all users
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information or your raw uploaded data. We do not use your data to train generative AI models.

3. How we store information

All data is stored in U.S.-based infrastructure. Specifically:

  • Uploaded files (MLS exports) are stored in Vercel Blob.
  • Account, report, and engagement data is stored in Neon Postgres.
  • Authentication state is held by Clerk.
  • Payment records are held by Stripe.

4. Subprocessors

We share information with the following third-party providers to operate the Service. Each is bound by their own privacy practices:

  • Clerk — authentication
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Vercel — application hosting and file storage
  • Neon — database hosting
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Meta — advertising measurement (Pixel and Conversions API), only for marketing-attribution data

5. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Authentication — Clerk session cookies to keep you signed in.
  • Marketing attribution— first- and third-party cookies (including Meta’s _fbp and _fbc) so we can measure ad performance and optimize campaigns.
  • Engagement tracking on public reports — anonymous visitor identifiers used to attribute repeat views to the same browser without identifying the individual.

You can disable cookies in your browser, though doing so may break authentication.

6. Public reports and shared data

When a realtor publishes a report at a public /r/[slug] link, the underlying property data and analysis are visible to anyone with that link. The realtor controls publication and is responsible for the data they choose to include and share. If you are a viewer of a public report and want it removed, contact the realtor who created it. If you cannot reach them, contact us at the email below and we will assist where appropriate.

7. Data retention

We retain account and content data while your account is active. After subscription cancellation or account deletion, we may continue to retain your uploaded files, generated reports, and engagement data to support service improvement and our aggregate analytics, and to comply with legal obligations.

Personal information. Personal information (such as your name, email, and billing data) will be deleted on verified request within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, to fulfill tax, audit, fraud-prevention, or other legal obligations).

De-identified and aggregate data. Data that has been de-identified, aggregated, or otherwise transformed so that it no longer identifies you may be retained indefinitely and used for the purposes described in “How we use information” above.

8. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing us at matthew@netgain.realty. We respond to verified requests within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to object to or restrict certain processing.

These rights apply to your personal information. They do not require us to delete de-identified, aggregated, or derived data that no longer identifies you, or records we are required to retain by law.

9. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect data in transit (TLS) and at rest (encrypted database storage). No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

10. Children

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. International users

The Service is operated from and hosted in the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., you are transferring your information to the U.S. and you consent to that transfer.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. The “Effective” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
